Not to be a Nervous Pervis or anything, but the Ducks need one more commit to fill their full house

What a glorious time to be a Duck.

The 2010 team is undefeated and playing for the fancy trophy. Jimmy Fallon salutes them on national tv with a power ballad. They have commitments from a handful of players selected for the high-powered high school all star games.

This is a whole new level of cool.

Only one more item needs to be checked off on the bucket list of excellence and "oh wow." Well yeah, probably two.

They need to finish the job in Glendale.

And they need to sign a tenacious, ground-game swallowing, line-collapsing, bruising defensive tackle. Ideally, two or three.

6-5, 285 junior college standout Jared Ebert was a good start. And the Ducks have signed some promising defensive ends, linebackers, and a top prospect at cornerback. Here's a list, and it may very likely be the most impressive one in Oregon history, rated nationally about eighth in the country by most of the services.

Yet until they ink at least one premier defensive tackle, there's a hole on the list. With Brandon Bair and Zac Clark playing their last game on Monday, and Ricky Heimuli still considering a religious mission, depth and talent in the middle of the defensive line is an enormous priority.

This staff recruits with energy and vision. There's little doubt they'll achieve that goal. We won't know for certain until about a month from now, on national signing day. But the sooner the future linchpin of the Oregon defense puts on that hat, the better.

It's the last remaining oh wow in a perfect year.
