An Important Residual Benefit of Great Recruiting Classes

Iron sharpens iron.  The Duck cornerbacks for the next four to five years will have to lock up in practice with Devon Blackmon, BJ Kelly, Tacoi Sumler, Colt Lyerla, and for the next two, Rahsaan Vaughn.  The Oregon defensive tackles will have to hand fight, bullrush, spin. swim and twist past Andre Yruretagoyena, Jamal Prater, Tyler Johnstone, James Euscher, and maybe Jake Fisher.

They will make each other better.  No one practices harder than the Ducks, and this kind of talent will sharpen the players around them.  It's inevitable.  They'll build pride, confident, competitiveness, and technique.  There will be a teachable moment every 10 to 15 seconds, with Chip Kelly putting together the soundtrack and molding champions.

The Oregon offensive linemen who face Ricky Hemuli  and (?)  Delvon Simmons and Christian Heyward every day in practice will make themselves ready for the marquee matchups of the future.

Winning is infectious, and so is excellence.  The players who come here do so, increasingly,  for a chance to win and compete against the best.
