Oregon's two leading candidates for the center position have zero starts between them. Hroniss Grasu is a redshirt freshman, 6-3, 278, and Karrington Armstrong a sophomore, listed at 6-2, 260. Armstrong played in one game last season, Portland State, while the Spring Game was a Duck debut for Grasu.
Louisiana State defensive line coach Brick Haley rotates four players at tackle, including 6-6, 300-lb Michael Brockers, and 6-3, 286-lb. Ego Ferguson.
Armstrong is strong and athletic, and seemed to have the upper hand in the competition this spring. In 2010 he led all Oregon linemen with a 500-lb. squat and 4.34 time in the shuttle run.
The two ought to spend some time together at the beach this summer, find the two biggest driftwood logs they can lift, and push them up and over end-over-end across the sand until they're exhausted, then back up the beach to the steps leading up to the buffet line. They'll need the strength of the tides to anchor Oregon's line, because the few times the offense has failed in the past couple of years, it's because they were overwhelmed in the middle.
43,000 at the spring game? Duck fans are getting all SEC'ish up in here. Better fall back to acceptable patterns of fandom or y'all will be kicked out of the PAC12 for caring too much.
