The Dynamic Weapon That Energizes Oregon Football

  1. You know, I like the spirit of bullets over bowling balls, but not on the offensive line. I get what he's saying, but I largely think there's a flaw in the overall philosophy when it comes to line play.

  2. That's a fair observation, particularly when you consider the lack of success Oregon has had against big, athletic, physical fronts like Ohio State, Auburn and Cal(2010). It's a worry also this year at center, where Grasu and Armstrong come in at about 280 and 265 respectively. Jordan Holmes was bigger and more physical.

    Wood makes it work, though. He's one of the best line coaches in the country, and he's got a long track record of results. Radcliffe too is among the tops in his profession.

    The lineman they have in the pipeline (Andre Y, Prater, Johnstone, Fisher, Euscher) will close the gap. They will be athletic AND strong and physical. All have the frames to get big and stay agile.
