Can Oregon Be the Little Engine That Could?

Public perception has Auburn an early three-point favorite in the Natty, and the sports radio guys and the national media are lining up behind the Tigers. On CBS College Sports' "The Tony Barnhart Show" Barnhart was incredulous. How can Oregon possibly stop Cam Newton and Nick Fairley? How can a soft PAC-10 team with a weak schedule match up with the best from the SEC?

Colin Cowherd of ESPN says Auburn will win by 21 points. The experts, pundits and shock jocks will all weigh in, and 90% of them will pick the SEC Champion. The SEC has won the last four National Championships, after all, and six total since the series began in 1998.

Never mind the SEC has an easier time getting teams to the BCS final, scheduling eight home games and four a season against the Chattanoogas and Florida Atlantics. When was the last time an SEC team came West for a non-conference intersectional game? Doesn't happen often.
