3rd and 4, a nice crisp pass to Davis for 21.
James around the left edge for 12. He's over a 100.
Another drive fizzles. Oregon continues to move the ball and then fail to convert it to points. The kicking game being unreliable, they go for it on fourth and eight and a screen to Barner is stuffed. Oregon State ball on the turnover on downs.
Ducks defense needs a stop here, or the Beavers will be sky high again.
Matthews blitzes and gets a piece of Katz, and Zac Clark cleans it up. Paysinger corrals Rodgers with a sure tackle. Beaver tight end with a drop on third down. Three and out.
A drive and a score would dictate this game right now.
Fake punt! Michael Clay rumbles for a huge gain.
Thomas is not getting protection, and he's off his back foot, throwing poorly.
But on third down an inside screen to Davis for a 19-yard touchdown. Thomas didn't set his feet on that one either, but Davis lept up and got great blocking. Reminded me of the Dino Philyaw play in '94. Same side of the field, same kind of blocking for the score.
3rd and five, underneath to Bishop for another O-S-U first down. Then to Wheaton. Katz is finding rhythm. They need more pressure.
Ducks give ground, but stiffen at the five, stuff three plays and OSU settles for a field goal. 23-10. Paysinger has been tough in coverage and tackling today. Oregon's two senior linebackers with good games.
Holding call negates Thomas's best pass of the game, and the Ducks are punting from their own edge. Two straight penalties on Carson York. And another false start, and freshman Maldonado is punting out of the end zone.
Ducks have let the Beavers hang around, and now they are in a close game.
3rd and 10, first down on the square in to Wheaton. Geez Louise.
