Around the PAC-10

Stanford whitewashed  UCLA 35-0.  It will be a long year for the Bruins.  Luck was subpar but it didn’t matter.  UCLA got their tailback committee working but lack a passing game.

USC in a pitcher’s duel with Virginia 17-7.    Pretty lackluster numbers for the Trojans, appears to be a very uninspired performance.  I’d be interested to know what the UT fans thought of Kiffin as a motivator.   Doesn’t seem like a strong suit so far.

Washington rallies against Syracuse behind a big day for Locker 41-20, four tds, 3 to Kearse.  Bet Cliff Harris locks up on him.  Polk ran for 117, good balance for the Huskies, who are running to form so far, potent offense, young defense.

The Cougs needed a 16-point 4th quarter to sneak by Montana State 23-22, sealing it with a field goal with 2:32 left.  Sometimes I scare myself.  Ex-Ducks Elvis Akpla and Cody Kempt made the box score for MSU, Akpla with a TD catch, Kempt 2-2 for 18 yds.

Cal and the Arizona Schools won big.

The Duck Stops Here has another 8-0 week in picks, bringing the season tally to 18-0.  Ted Miller is still eating my dust at 15-3.
