Can the Ducks Finish the Job?

The Ducks have a bye week to heal and adjust and improve, Arizona at home on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Oregon State in Corvallis on December 4th. For the Beavers, losers of three of their last four to Washington, UCLA and Washington State, the Civil War will be their bowl game. Their only bowl game in what is likely to be no better than a 5-7 season. Lunch Pail U has regressed.

Can the Ducks finish the job? Can they make adjustments to overcome "the blueprint" drawn up by Cal, Ohio State, Stanford and Boise? In their three losses last year, and Saturday's close call in Berkeley, the offensive line was overwhelmed at the line of scrimmage. The defensive front blew up the running game with penetration. Defense and special teams saved the day at Cal, but they'll need a better offensive response to win a national title.

How will the Ducks defeat the man-to-man, spy on the quarterback defensive scheme Cal used with such effectiveness? No doubt they'll see it again.
