Ducks Need Bair To Be Beastly

The Ducks had five sacks versus Washington, and California is 77th in the country in sacks allowed at 2.2 per game. At Corvallis last week the Beavers got to the Cal quarterbacks five times. The Cougars managed just two, and lost 20-13.

Brandon Bair hasn't had a tfl in two weeks. Bair makes an effort play after play, but the Duck defense is most tenacious when he's disrupting things in the middle. Oregon needs to blow up Cal's inside running game and get pressure on Brock Mansion, who has had just one career start at quarterback. Bair is the key. At 6-5, 232 Mansion is a relatively stationary target, and the Ducks must not let him get comfortable throwing to Marvin Jones and Keenan Allen downfield.

Josh Kaddu has a sack in each of Oregon's last two games, and Kenny Rowe has one in each of the last five. In all the Ducks have 25 sacks for the season, 3rd in the conference.
